Animalia, at last

As blogger is messing me about almost malevolently at the moment (can't read comments on my own blog, can't leave comments on a lot of others) it's an ideal opportunity to do this catch-up post. A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I asked people to write animal poems so that I could make a one-off book, which was subsequently raffled for charity.

The raffle was held during a reading event at Glasgow University early last year. I'm afraid to say I had much too much wine that night, and took these photos fairly near the end. Hence the quality, and the fact that only about half the pages were photographed. Forgot to get a shot of the brilliant cover too.

But thank you again to all the contributors, some of whose work appears below. A bit blurred.

Oh, I would love to be able to see these enlarged! Who won the raffle? Lucky person, indeed.

I can't remember if I contributed to this or not, but then, I can't remember a whole lot these days.

Blogger can be a right pain.

What a lovely idea Jo Anne - wish I had read the post and known about it, I would have had a go. I love your new header - oh yes, all border terriers love their comfort don't they.

Okay, today's "layout" seems to be back to normal. (Maybe your Blog got into a vat of wine?) :)

The above looks great but like Kat, I wish they would enlarge. Don't understand why they will on some blogs and not others. Either way...job well done!

I'm pleased to be in such fine company! What was the book title? This was a great idea. Here, I wouldn't be able to give away a book of poetry. Isn't that sad?

I love the picture of Titus, and I guess Animalia of the title. Duh.

Wow !
Beautiful Book.
I was just thinking about the book on Tuesday when the Javelina herd moseyed pass my studio window. I remember the haiku I wrote.

I have finally figured out how to comment by hitting reply then scroll down to the bottom of the page and found the comment box.
By accident !

Now for the best part... awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww TITUS !
So cute !
Can you hear me squealing all the way from Tucson.

cheers, parsnip

I was wondering what had happened with this just the other day - get out of my head! Ha!

what a brilliant idea :) I wish I'd seen you say that! Blogger's been weird to me with my links to blogs I like but I think it's sorted out now. Like Buggy, I hope you can read this. It's like sending a message in a bottle.

Wow. Aren't they beautiful. What a lovely book that must be. Mine's there too. It's also in my dinky poetry book but under a different title.

Aha! I may be back in business!

Kat: yes, you definitely did. It was a funny, quite short one as I recall.

Weaver: it was a Bus prompt, back in the days...

hope: I know, that enlarge thing happens sometimes and not others. Glad you liked what you could see.

Karen: thanks, and yes, Animalia.

steven: thank you.

parsnip: ta! Javelina was one of the opening poems in it.

Niamh: sorry to disabuse you, but it was quite stiff. Beautiful, but stiff.

Bug: ooh, thought transference.

Jessica: thanks, and the bottle's washed up now.

EW: yes, I know!

I've been having problems commenting on blogs too, very annoying!! That's a lot of animal poems and I love the new pic!

Marion McCready said...

btw, what days will you be at stanza?

Titus said...

Marion: thank you, and yes, it was a lot of animal poems!
No idea! I guess a Saturday or Sunday if they are options. You can probably tell I haven't exactly planned this yet.

Very cool words from some talented poets - and interesting to have such a range of animals all having a poetry picnic together.
